I am not a writer, but when a friend’s daughter started sharing her BLOG, it peaked my interest. I am a wife of a (trooper) Retired Lt. Colonel of the MS Highway Patrol. We have had many trials and tribulations but when Christ is the center of your foundation you never ever give up, you walk through the season. Being married to a LEO ( Law Enforcement Officer) is not easy at times. It’s filled with every emotion you can imagine.
I work in Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment, my husband will say “I truly didn’t know what you did until I retired and started listening”. WOW! Now our passion and purpose are aligned to help first responders, their agencies and families.
When my husband Had to have emergency quadruple bypass almost 3 years ago, it was our LEO family that help to get us through some of the scariest times. They were there to pray, hold hands and more. We unite when one is in trouble, but our goal it’s to unite us now so we can be there for you.
The most important take away from this BLOG, if you need help, you reach out and ask for what you need. It’s not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of strength. Holidays are hard for everyone no matter what season you are in. Stay close, Stay connected and Don’t Isolate. We are creating an Auxiliary for families of First Responders. If you are interested, please contact me. Together we can make a difference. You can reach me at ruthann@firstrespondersofms.com
